INTRODUCED “FREE ZONES” TO CYBER CLUSTER MEMBERS

Türkiye Cyber Security Cluster, for its members Free Zones and Istanbul Specialized Free Zone Held an Information Meeting.

It was established to encourage investment and production and to develop international trade; An introductory meeting was held for Free Zones and Istanbul Specialized Free Zone, which are special economic zones located within the country's political borders but outside customs borders, where ordinary trade barriers such as taxes, tariffs and quotas are eliminated, bureaucratic conditions are reduced, and wide incentives and advantages are offered for industrial and commercial activities.

Making the opening speech at the meeting held online on January 19, 2023, SSB Consultant and General Coordinator of the Turkish Cyber Security Cluster, Alpaslan Kesici, stated that the cyber security sector has gained significant momentum in recent years, and that the sector needs support to progress further, therefore, as the Cyber Cluster, members were informed by organizing various support meetings.

Ergenekon Küçük, General Manager of Istanbul Specialized Free Zone, talked about the definition of the free zone and the purpose of its establishment. Stating that there are 19 Free Zones within the borders of the country and that Free Zones are the best investment areas for international investment, Küçük explained tax advantages and customs exemptions.
