WE PARTICIPATED IN THE 2ND NATIONAL CYBER SECURITY FORUM HELD IN AZERBAIJAN

AKTA (Association of Azerbaijan Cyber Security Agencies) organized the 2nd National Cyber Security Forum in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on June 1, 2023.

T.R. attended the event. Ahmet Bahadır Bülbül, Head of Cyber Security and Information Systems Department of the Presidency of Defense Industries and T.R. Presidential Digital Transformation Office Cyber Security Department Head Salih Talay attended as a guest. After giving the opening speech, Bülbül and Talay participated in the panel titled "Cyber Security in the Context of the Organization of Turkish States" as moderators and panelists.

“I evaluate that cooperation opportunities can be expanded with our companies that have proven their success in the world and are in the Turkish Cyber Security Cluster.”

Bülbül: "Today's event is one of the important milestones in the steps we take towards a safer digital future. As Turkish nations, we are faced with the increasing importance of cyber security in the rapidly changing technological environment that shapes our lives and economies. It was also seen in the Nagorno-Karabakh victory that domestic and national systems are strategic in the defense industry. Especially in the recent period, the importance of having a domestic and national cyber security ecosystem by reducing foreign dependencies in case of possible cyber wars between countries cannot be denied." sizes.

Today, I call on all Turkish nations to seize this opportunity and create a strong cyber security framework. Together, we can build a strong alliance that provides collaboration, knowledge sharing and mutual support. I wholeheartedly believe that this alliance will transcend geographical borders and support our national interests while increasing cyber security resilience in the international arena.

I think that the Turkish Investment Fund, established under the Organization of Turkish States, can be used in projects in the field of cyber security.

I must also emphasize the importance of strong public-private partnerships to achieve success. In this sense, our Türkiye Cyber Security Cluster project, which is a structure that will enable the private sector and technology companies to act together in order to provide an environment of cooperation, has been continuing its activities for approximately 5 years. As Türkiye, I consider that cooperation opportunities can be expanded with our companies that have proven their success in the world and are in the Turkish Cyber Security Cluster.

We consider that the Cluster, which operates in many areas related to cyber security, is a model that can be useful for other Turkish States in terms of training human resources, raising awareness, developing new products and business development.” he said.

“Our fight against cybercrime can only be considered effective if we have the technology appropriate to the level of its perpetration.”

In his speech, Talay noted the following: "Our fight against cyber crimes can only be considered effective if we have technology appropriate to the level of their commission. In this context, we wish the member countries of the Organization of Turkish States to organize cooperation for common development in this field. In the modern age, cyber superstitions are rapidly infecting our lives. On this basis, each of our lives has been integrated into cyber space. However, actions that involve new challenges such as cyber crime, cyber espionage and cyber terrorism pose a threat to both cyber and physical space. The last 10 years of cyber crimes." If we look at the increasing trend over the years, we can see that cyberspace is a very favorable environment for those who commit these acts. Compared to previous periods, it is seen that the acts committed in this field are now more complex, destructive and threaten public security to a great extent. There is no doubt that we cannot talk about 100 percent security anywhere in the world, but cyber security can help us protect ourselves from cyber attacks. "Our fight against crimes can only be considered effective if we have technology appropriate to the level of their perpetration. In this context, we wish the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States to organize cooperation for common development in this field."

Representatives of companies and public institutions held consultations at the event, where Turkish and Azerbaijani cyber security companies also opened stands. The event, which was attended by approximately 400 people as guests, was followed with interest by the participants.
