Turkey Cyber Security Cluster organized an online event on October 13, 2023 and informed its members about the commercial environment, business habits, market dynamics, company establishment and support mechanisms, start-up ecosystem, and opportunities for IT companies in Singapore.
SSB Cyber Security and Information Systems Department Head made the opening speech of the Singapore Information Seminar, prepared specifically for the members of the Cyber Cluster. Ahmet Bahadır Bülbül did. Bülbül stated that it was beneficial to hold country information days, especially before the GovWare event to be held in Singapore.
Deputy Head of the Department of Information Technology, Software and Communication Services Exports of the Ministry of Commerce, General Directorate of International Services Trade Fatih Aydin, stated that they were pleased with the interest in the Country Information Days, which were launched last year with the Turkish Cyber Security Cluster, and thanked all participants.
Singapore Ambassador to Türkiye Burçin Gönenli, stated that he and his team are very excited and happy to host Turkish companies on the occasion of the GoVware fair.
It was also announced in the webinar that on the second day of the GoVware Fair, a reception will be held at the Turkish Embassy Residence in Singapore, to which Turkish pavilion companies will be invited.
Then the Singapore Commercial Counselor took the floor. Esin Arslanmade a presentation about the demographic structure and commercial dynamics in Singapore. Informing the participants in detail, Arslan shared the import and export figures with Turkey. He underlined that Singapore focuses especially on digitalization and awareness of cyber threats in the field of technology.
One of GoVware's speakers, SGTech Chamber of Commerce Cyber Security Unit Manager Ken Soh, talked about the point Singapore has reached in the field of cyber security. Stating that Singapore is a "hub" for all technology companies, Soh emphasized that Singapore is in a critical position to expand into the Asian market.
Then, APAC Regional Sales Director of Picus, one of our member companies, took the floor. Veera SubramanianStating that they have offices in Singapore, they shared their sales strategies in the country and the region with the participants and gave advice.
Unicorn is from Insider, a Turkish company. Orkan Akcan, told his success story from start-up to becoming a unicorn. He said that their company first entered the Singapore market in 2016 and that they are now experienced in the region. Akcan stated that they work with many large companies in Singapore and gave advice to companies.
