At the invitation of Aselsan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, we met with students on Thursday, December 14, 2023 and held a conference to provide students with a cyber security perspective and awareness.
Conference, High School Principal Yasin ÖzdemirHosted by TSGK General Coordinator Alpaslan CutterIt started with the opening speech of . Kesici talked about the general work of the Turkish Cyber Security Cluster and the products and services of member companies. Stating that they attach great importance to access to talent, Kesici expressed that they are pleased that the students are interested in cyber security and continued: "Fortunately, this school was established and brought to this level. There is a human resources gap in the field of cyber security all over the world and in our country. I am sure that, as young people receiving technical education at the high school level, you will be successful in the field of cyber security and fill this gap. As TSGK, we are ready to do whatever we can for you." Alpaslan Kesici advised students not to cut off communication, stating that TSGK doors are always open.
Founder and cyber security expert of Bilishim, one of our member companies Yılmaz Değirmenci, explained the logic of penetration testing and red teaming and why it is necessary. Explaining what a "hacker" is and what he does, Değirmenci gave current examples and talked about what it costs to hack systems. Emphasizing that cyber security vulnerabilities have the power to sink even a large company, Değirmenci underlined that cyber attacks are very powerful. Değirmenci, who also answered the technical questions of the students, also gifted his book "Pentest Diaries" to the school library.
The conference was organized by the Technical Sales Manager of Binalyze, one of our member companies. Hasan Hüseyin ÖzbenliIt continued with the presentation of. Özbenli started his presentation with a video explaining the relevance and importance of cyber security in physical life. Özbenli also talked about what students should pay attention to when determining their career path and his own career journey.
Founding partner and cyber security expert of Secunnix, one of our member companies Safa KarataşIn his presentation, he gave technical information to the students about the Linux system. Karataş shared current vulnerabilities and their details with the students. Safa Karataş completed his presentation by answering the technical questions of the students.
After the presentations, TSGK Education Specialist Eren Hasipek, informed the students about the Cyber Cluster educational activities.
Then, 5 of our students, who had previously attended various trainings and achieved outstanding success and studied at various high schools, presented their own projects to their peers.
Conference, Ankara University student Sarp Dora DirectionIt ended with the presentation in which he explained the importance of hackathon and communities in cyber security.
After the plaque of appreciation presented by Aselsan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Principal Yasin Özdemir to TSGK General Coordinator Alpaslan Kesici, the event ended with a souvenir photo.
