Turkish Cyber Security Cluster organized an online event this week and informed its members about the commercial environment, business habits, market dynamics, company establishment and support mechanisms, start-up ecosystem, and opportunities for IT companies in Azerbaijan.
Information about Azerbaijan was given on Tuesday, April 18. The opening speech of the conference was made by the Head of Cyber Security and Information Systems Department of the Presidency of Defense Industries. Ahmet Bahadır Bülbül, Executive Director of the 4th Industrial Revolution Analysis and Coordination Center of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan Tamerlan Tagiyev and Head of the Department of Informatics, Software and Communication Services Exports of the General Directorate of International Services Trade of the Ministry of Commerce Hürol Karlı did.Then speaking, T.C. Baku Embassy Chief Commercial Counselor Yakup SeferHe gave detailed information about the country.
Afterwards, President of AKTA (Association of Azerbaijan Cyber Security Agencies) Elvin BalacanovReferring to the agreement they signed with the SSB and TSGK within the scope of the Cyber Security Week organized in Turkey by the Turkish Cyber Security Cluster, he stated that they believe that the cyber security ecosystem of Turkey and Azerbaijan will develop thanks to this agreement.Balacanov informed the audience about what is being done in the field of cyber security in Azerbaijan. Making a detailed presentation, Balacanov stated that there is cyber security training in 9 universities of the country and that training competent people is important. He stated that AKTA has taken important steps to strengthen both education and start-ups. He underlined that not only the state but also the private sector should support the ecosystem in order to develop it. He emphasized that the state is working with all its might to develop the ecosystem by combining the forces of the private sector, NGOs and academia.Then he became the CEO of Prosol Company operating in Azerbaijan. Babek Aghayev and company officials Alikhayyam Guluzaddeshared his experience and presented statistical information about cyber security in the country.Prosol Company officials informed the participants about Azerbaijani cyber security with their detailed presentations and also shared their information about the National Cyber Security Index, legislation and financial regulations.Finally, the Azerbaijan General Manager of Karmasis, one of our member companies, Berna Baysal took the floor. Baysal introduced Karmasis company. Underlining that they market their 100% local and national products developed by their own software developers, Berna Baysal stated that they entered the Azerbaijani market in 2022. He emphasized that they have done and continue to do their part against cyber threats. Informing the audience about the Azerbaijani cyber security market size, growth trends and ecosystem players, Baysal also shared his experiences on threats and opportunities.The online event, which attracted great interest from member companies, ended with a question-answer session.
