HIGH SCHOOL SCHOOLS COMPETED TO CAPTURE THE FLAG

YOU HAVE THE FLAG: THE WINNERS OF THE 3RD INTER-HIGH SCHOOL CAPTURE THE FLAG COMPETITION ARE ANNOUNCED

Organized for the third time this year by Teknopark Istanbul Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Turkey's first cyber security high school. “You Have the Flag: Inter-High School Capture the Flag Competition”The final phase of the project was successfully completed at the Küp Incubation Center on May 24, 2022.

This year's stakeholders are T.R. Presidency of Defense Industries, T.R. Presidential Digital Transformation Office, Türkiye Cyber ​​Security Cluster, STM, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa and Boğaziçi University.

A total of 490 students applied to the competition. 149 teams were formed and 71 of these teams, 243 students, competed in the 28-hour online pre-selection exam on May 12-13 to become finalists. The top 20 teams in the preliminary round competed face to face on May 24 for 5 hours non-stop to capture the flag. The categories of questions were as follows: Reverse, OSINT, forensics, web, misc., pwn, stego.

At the award ceremony of the competition, Pendik District Governor Dr. Hülya KAYA, Teknopark Istanbul General Manager Bilal TOPÇU, Turkey Cyber ​​Security Cluster General Coordinator Alpaslan KESİCİ, Istanbul Provincial Deputy Director of National Education Aykut AKÇA, Pendik District Deputy Director of National Education Ertan SAYGIN, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Computer Engineering Cyber ​​Security Department Head Assoc. Dr. Muhammed Ali AYDIN ​​and Boğaziçi University BÜSİBER President Prof. Dr. Muhammed Ali AYDIN ​​and Teknopark Istanbul School Principal Turan ÇİNKILIÇ attended.

Competition third place “Solo” competing on behalf of ECA Elginkan Anatolian High School Istanbul Deputy Provincial Director Aykut AKÇA presented the awards to the team students.

Competition runner-up “EpirogenEZZZ” competing on behalf of Yüksel-İlhan Alanyalı Science High School team students received their awards from Pendik District Governor Dr. Hülya KAYA presented it.

The winners of the competition were presented to the students of the "KAL Hack Team" team, who competed on behalf of Kartal Anatolian High School, by Alpaslan KESİCİ, General Coordinator of the Turkish Cyber Security Cluster, and Bilal TOPÇU, General Manager of Teknopark Istanbul.

It has been learned that the scope of "You Have the Flag: Inter-High School Capture the Flag Competition", which is planned to be held for the fourth time next year, will be expanded and opened to the whole of Türkiye and to the participation of secondary school students.
