Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University and Niğde Teknopark A.Ş. "HackNiğde Future Solutions Hackathon" was organized in cooperation with Ahiler Development Agency.
At the Hackathon held at the Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Congress and Culture Center on April 27-28, young people interested in the software field prepared "city" themed software projects in a 24-hour sprint. In the hackathon, where a total of 24 teams and 85 students competed among more than 130 applications from five different cities, six different universities, and a team from Niğde Bilsem Science High School, young talents developed artificial intelligence-supported solution projects to the problems they identified in the city.
University Rector Prof. attended the award ceremony held at the Martyr Ömer Halisdemir Congress and Culture Center. Dr. Along with Hasan Uslu, Niğde Governor Cahit Çelik, Niğde Deputy Mayor Bülent Küçüktuna, T.R. Presidential Defense Industry Advisor and Türkiye Cyber Security Cluster General Coordinator Alpaslan Kesici, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ersin Aydın, Niğde Teknopark A.Ş. Director Dr. Lecturer Member Rifat Battaloğlu, Ahiler Development Agency officials, provincial protocol, Hackathon Jury Board, academicians and many students attended.
Kesici: “Brand Value in Our Country's Defense Industry”
T.R. Alpaslan Kesici, Presidential Defense Industry Advisor and General Coordinator of Turkey Cyber Security Cluster, stated in his speech that our country has achieved significant success in the field of defense industry and that it is a country in the league of giants in the world with a brand value and patents in this field. Kesici continued his words as follows: "We have flown the prototype of our Kaan plane, we have tanks, guns and we are in a very good place in terms of electronic warfare. In the defense industry, this country has actually achieved this job by trusting and believing in young people like you. In the field of information and security system, our country's young engineers will achieve this, hopefully, we are taking firm steps. Our wonderful products have started to emerge. Soon, you will be using your own information systems and together we will crown this again and make it a world brand."
At the last part of the ceremony, T.R. to the jury members who evaluated the projects of 24 teams. A certificate of appreciation was presented by Alpaslan Kesici, Presidential Defense Industry Advisor and General Coordinator of Türkiye Cyber Security Cluster.
