At the opening of the program, Blackbox Security Think Tank President Kürşat Oğuzhan AKINCI, Azerbaijan National Cyber Security Center President Davud RUSTAMOV, Information Technologies and Communication Authority President Ömer Abdullah KARAGÖZOĞLU and T.R. Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Dr. Ömer Fatih SAYAN made his speeches.
The "Regional Security Challenges: Cyber Defense Efforts of Turkic States" panel, moderated by Alpaslan KESİCİ, General Coordinator of the Turkish Cyber Security Cluster, and attended by participants from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, attracted great attention.
On the first day of the conference; A friendly CTF competition was held between student teams of the sister countries of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The team from Kazakhstan came first in the competition.
JOINT STEPS IN CYBER SECURITY: THE ROLE OF THE ORGANIZATION OF TURKISH STATES
Alpaslan KESİCİ in his speechIt was pointed out that cyber attacks have increased recently and that these attacks have become increasingly complex and sophisticated. These developments once again reveal how vital it is to establish strong and effective defense mechanisms in the field of cyber security. Kesici emphasized that these defense mechanisms should be strengthened, especially with local and national products.
As the states within the Organization of Turkish States (TDT), we are all brothers, we are one nation. This unity and solidarity requires us to take joint steps in the field of cyber security. Cyber threats can reach dimensions that can threaten the security of not only a country, but also the entire region and even the world. Therefore, as CSA countries, we must ensure our cyber security defense together.
In this context, developing joint projects is of great importance. Projects that will enable the sharing of knowledge and experience between TDT countries will enable us to become stronger both individually and collectively in the field of cyber security. Developing local and national products and ensuring the integration of these products will help us establish more resistant systems against cyber attacks.
Trainings are also an integral part of this process. Training personnel specialized in cyber security will increase the competencies of our countries in this field. By organizing joint training programs and seminars, we can share best practices and new technologies in cybersecurity.
Exercises are of great importance in terms of turning theoretical knowledge into practice and being prepared for possible attack scenarios. Joint exercises to be held between TDT countries will show how to act quickly and effectively in cases of cyber attacks.
Finally, by organizing competitions, we can encourage young talents and ensure the emergence of new ideas in the field of cyber security. These competitions will contribute to both discovering individual talents and increasing awareness in this field.
In summary, as the Organization of Turkish States, we must act together to become stronger in the field of cyber security and to be better prepared against threats in this field.. Joint projects, products, training, exercises and competitions will make our defense mechanisms in this field even stronger. Let's not forget that we are stronger together and this strength will also show itself in the field of cyber security.
