THE 21st PUBLIC CYBER SECURITY DAY EVENT WAS HELD

The 21st Public Cyber Security Day Event was organized by the Turkish Cyber Security Cluster at the State Supply Office on January 25, 2024. At the meeting attended by decision makers of many public institutions, Allsafe company introduced its penetration testing and red team services, while Ölçsan company introduced its T-Strainer product, an intrusion detection and prevention system (IDPS).

The event, organized to disseminate local and national cyber security products in the public sector, was organized by TSGK General Coordinator. Alpaslan CutterIt started with the opening speech of . Then the Head of Information Technology Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports İbrahim Semizoğlu, explained the local products they use in detail, talked about the advantages of using local products, shared their experiences and answered questions.

Allsafe Explained Penetration Testing and Red Team Services

allsafe Sales and Customer Relations Manager Gulay Bakirliinformed the participants in general about consultancy and training activities within the scope of penetration testing, red team and compliance processes. Bakırlı stated that the company provides services in Türkiye and Azerbaijan with documents that comply with TSE Class A and other international penetration test standards.

Allsafe General Manager H. Serkan Balkanlı underlined the importance of information security for public institutions in Turkey and provided information about the transition process to the new version of the ISO 27001:2022 Information Security Management System and other supporting ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System, ISO 27701 Personal Data Management System, ISO 20000-1 Information Technologies Service Management Systems.

Then the Cyber Security Operations Team Leader took the floor. Oguzhan Kara He also presented the technical details of penetration testing and red team services. Kara emphasized the importance of clearly stating company expectations in penetration testing and red team activities and carrying out penetration testing and red team services effectively through comprehensive evaluations. He also underlined the importance of presenting the results obtained through detailed reporting in a transparent manner, increasing employee awareness against social engineering attacks within the organization, and adopting a customized and comprehensive penetration testing and red team approach against current threats. Ölçsan Introduced its Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDPS) T-Strainer Product

Ölçsan General Manager Burak Sondalshared the work being done in the field with the participating institutions. ÖLÇSAN, celebrating its 50th anniversary in the sector, included the education ecosystem in its presentation, which it describes as its investment in the future and youth. He explained that the system includes four different certificate programs according to levels. Sondal continued as follows: "Awareness Training Workshop Program, Cyber Security Entry Level Certificate Program, Cyber Security Certificate Program (Blue Team), Cyber Security Certificate Program (Red Team) are among the certificate programs. The Cyber Security Internship Program for university students recruits interns within the scope of the protocol signed with approximately 11 Universities, the collaboration of CBİKO (Presidential Human Resources Office of the Republic of Turkey) and the Turkish Cyber Security Cluster (TSGK). Students who are interested in cyber security are recruited at the university Students who continue their internships in their 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades can be included in the program starting from the first year. Part/full-time employment opportunities are provided.”

ÖLÇSAN, which collaborates with start-up programs and global companies within the scope of the cyber security ecosystem, stated that they aim for local and national studies to have a say on a global scale. Emphasizing the importance of this goal, Sondal talked about the damage that attacks on the maritime sector cause both to the sector and outside the sector. Following this awareness, he gave information about T-STRAINER, an Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDS/IPS) product within the scope of the solutions offered by ÖLÇSAN. It was shared that the problems caused by missing or outdated signatures, disruptions caused by personnel, time and resource limitations, and the problems caused by activities carried out to avoid slowing down traffic and preventing packet loss, were factors in the development of the product and its differences from its competitors. General Manager Burak Sondal stated the following in the section where he explained the important differences: "With T-STRAINER, we reached 60,000 'flows' with 60 threads in real traffic, at 120Gbps uninterrupted speed, without any data loss." The presentation, in which it was stated that institutions could be contacted for demo days, ended with questions and answers from the participants.

Senior managers and technical decision makers from the Directorate, RTÜK, TCDD Taşımacılık, PTT, TÜBİTAK Bilgem and TÜRKSAT attended.
