The Finance Sector Focused Cyber Exercise event was organized by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance on 3-4 May at the Eti Maden Enterprises General Directorate building.

General Coordinator of Türkiye Cyber Security Cluster Alpaslan Cutter, moderated the panel titled "Cyber Risks and Local Solutions in the Banking and Finance Sector" on the first day of the event. Before giving the floor to the panelists, Kesici informed the audience about the Turkish Cyber Security Cluster. Stating that a significant progress has been made in 5 years on the path set out with the main goal of disseminating local and national cyber security products, Kesici also touched upon the work of the Turkish National Cyber Demonstration Center (TUSGM) established within the Cyber Cluster office. He stated that with the implementation of TUSGM, the products of our member companies will be tested in the PoC environment and will contribute significantly to product development.Picus Public Sales Manager, one of our member companies, was the panel speaker. Selcen Arslan, Procenne Solution Consultant Alper Polat, PCI Checklist Co-Founder and CEO Kivanc Harputlu and Kron CPO Mehmet Ilgaz attended.Kron CPO Mehmet Ilgaz stated that everything is on the move now, with developments such as the increase in mobile applications in banking and the shift to remote working in business life, and that cyber attacks are mostly directed against the financial sector and that 80% of these attacks are identity and access attacks. Their products; Ilgaz stated that they developed the product by dividing it into 3 categories: identity and access security, infrastructure security and data security, and underlined that they have a serious presence both at home and abroad with PAM products. Ilgaz said that they developed a new product in the data masking category.PCI Checklist Founding Partner and CEO Kıvanç Harputlu stated that they work with 9 banks and more than 20 corporate companies in Turkey and said that they had the opportunity to improve their products thanks to the feedback they received. Harputlu, we have a large population in terms of banking and finance, card usage is intense, and accordingly the PCI Checklist product; He emphasized that it closed an important cyber security gap in the field of banking and finance, such as fraud and theft of card information. He stated that the target market for his products is the Middle East, England and Japan because they have a regulated system.Procenne Solution Consultant Alper Polat stated that they developed products in the field of HSM for the cyber security needs of the finance and banking sector. Emphasizing that financial institutions work with sensitive data, Polat noted that they produce HSM to encrypt and store this sensitive data in an encrypted manner. Stating that the best method is the hardware encryption method, Polat stated that they developed and introduced the Procrypt product to the market. He stated that they maximized the security of the mobile application by developing the Endcrypt product to ensure mobile application security in the banking sector. He emphasized that CryptAway products are designed to monitor and independently manage existing HSMs used by financial institutions. He said that with the increasing interest in the cloud, they added the Cloud HSM product to their product range.Picus Public Sales Manager Selcen Arslan stated that Picus was founded in 2013 and has been the world leader in its field since its establishment. He said that it operates in 9 countries with more than 200 engineers in Turkey and more than 400 employees in the world. Emphasizing that the area that whets the appetite of cyber attackers the most is the financial sector, Arslan underlined that Picus is MasterCard's core product. Stating that they offer a simulation platform to institutions, Arslan said that the platform enables institutions to test their defense mechanisms and strengthen themselves by creating realistic attack scenarios.
