T.R. Under the auspices of the Presidency of Defense Industries, the "Cyber Security Idea Competition" was held for the first time on 23-24 March 2019, with the organization of Teknopark Istanbul and Türkiye Cyber Security Cluster.
In the organization organized to support the commercializable innovative business ideas of new entrepreneurs in the field of Cyber Security in Turkey, 16 teams selected as a result of the pre-selection worked hard for 24 hours to produce new business ideas, mature them, conduct global market analysis and reveal the prototypes of their ideas. At the end of the period, each team tried to convince the jury by explaining the innovative aspect of this idea, its global market potential and how their team would commercialize this idea within 5 minutes.
In the competition, where the Cyber Security Unit Directors of giant companies of the IT, defense and telecommunications industry such as TURKCELL, NETAŞ, TÜRKSAT, HAVELSAN, STM, TÜRK TELEKOM were also included as jury members, the teams were scored according to criteria such as CV, Technical Experience, Originality of the Solution, Commercialization Potential and Globalization Vision, and as a result, the SARP.IO team won the 30 thousand TL prize in first place, while the DIATTACK team came in second. 20 thousand TL award, and the Phishtrappers team came in third place and won the 10 thousand TL award. Additionally, as an honorable mention, the first 7 teams were offered office opportunities at the Incubation Center by Teknopark Istanbul. Entrepreneurial teams also had the chance to meet senior decision makers in the cyber security industry and receive feedback and advice from them.
