Get in the Ring (GITR) event, which offers innovative startups with commercialization potential the opportunity to introduce themselves in the international arena and takes place in more than 100 countries, was hosted by Bilkent CYBERPARK for the 3rd time in Turkey.
Unlike previous years, "Cyber Security" was determined as the focus sector this year in the event, which was held under the main partnership of the Presidency of Defense Industries and the Turkish Cyber Security Cluster and the sponsorship of Karel Gold. 8 cyber security companies selected from the applications struggled to get the opportunity to introduce themselves in the international arena. As per the concept of the competition, entrepreneurs met their competitors in the ring and explained their business ideas, working hard to impress the expert jury. Nurettin Erginöz from Atarlabs and Serkan Başaran from Altosec, who outperformed their opponents in the ring, succeeded in reaching the finals. In the final, where the winner of the competition was announced by SSB Cyber Security and Information Systems Group President Mustafa ÖZÇELİK, the winner was ATARLABS. Atarlabs and Altosec, which finished second in the competition, had the chance to participate in the GITR Global Final to be held in Berlin.
Emphasizing that the winning team will represent Turkey as well as promoting its own product in the international market, Bilkent CYBERPARK General Manager Faruk İNALTEKİN said, "If we want to do business worldwide, we need to save entrepreneurs from single market addiction and expose them to the international market."
Apart from the finalists, Fatma Ertürk, the founder of Safetech company, who is the only female entrepreneur in the ring, won the mentoring and consultancy award from Bilkent CYBERPARK, while Kağan Işıldak, the youngest contestant in the ring, won the one-year free office award from Bilkent CYBERPARK to Gais Security company.
Get in the Ring Global Final will take place in Berlin, the entrepreneurship capital of Europe, on 16-19 June 2019. Atarlabs and Altosec companies, which will strive to be the best in the world and represent Turkey, will have the opportunity to meet with more than 100 investors and customers.
